Noise treatments on the Regional Rail link
I have posted some videos on YouTube that explain some of the concerns with the Regional Rail Link Authority's approach to addressing noise along the Regional Rail Link.
The videos demonstrate what residents have been saying. The RRLA has not considered our suggestions even though we can show they are practical.
Video 1 The proposed noise wall will not reduce noise with the raised rail track
Video 2 The resident's proposal to lower the track is a practical suggestion
Video 3 Earth Mounding is possible and can be demonstrated
Video 4 Earth Mounding is possible and can be demonstrated Pt2
Video 5 There is enough room on the Forrest Road side for earth mounding
Photo of local residents concerned about rail noise
This photo of local residents concerned about rail noise highlights the height of the rail line relative to street level. The proposed noise wall along this section is 3 metres. The rail line in the background is 2.5 metres above the street level. The wall would do very little to block the noise coming of the rail line.

Questions for the state government and the Regional Rail Link Authority
It has been a while since I posted something on this blog. However, I would like to share this with you.
The RRLA has announced their plan to build a noise wall along the rail line from Ardeer to Fitzgerald road. Recently, they have been speaking to residents individually and dropping brochures in people's letterboxes. I asked for a meeting with one of their representatives, Brad Smits. I asked the questions that residents have been asking for almost two years and got very few answers.
Please see the letter I sent Brad after the meeting. At our community meeting on October 17 dozens of residents endorsed this letter. We have called a rally for Friday November 1 at 11am at Bernie Finn MP's office, 277 Hampshire Road, Sunshine 3020.
